Internet hackers have attacked Pointblanknews.com corrupting several thousands of the news website files and its wordpress with malwares.
The news website has been down since last week Thursday because it wordpress admin has been compromised and news stories cannot be uploaded.
Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of Pointblanknews.com, Mr. Jackson Ude said Technicians from it host organization have been working since last week to clean up the malwares.
According to Ude, “Our host organizations have been working since last week to clean up the files. As you know, we have hundreds of thousands files that dates back since 2007 when we began.”
He said the website would be back fully with fortified security back ups in the next 24 hours.
“Based on the level of work and cleaning so far carried out by our technicians, we hope to be back online within the next 24 hours,” Ude said.
Pointblanknews.com has been one of Nigeria’s hard-hitting news website reporting corruption, bad governance and general news items on the state of the country. It has several followers within and outside Nigeria.
