The sudden reversal of his concession of the defeat he suffered in the 21st June 2014 governorship election in Ekiti state to People’s Democratic Party by the outgoing governor of Ekiti state has been said to be one of the elements of democratic illiteracy of Governor Kayode Fayemi and political inconsistency of his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Making this assertion was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ekiti State chapter in a statement which was made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti during the weekend by the state’s Publicity Secretary of the party, Pastor Kola Oluwawole.

It was pointed out in the release that PDP knew, Ab initio that the voters’ disgraceful humiliation of APC candidate, might have been responsible for why he immediately conceded defeat to PDP’s Dr. Ayo Fayose, because Fayemi has never been known to be politically responsible or possess any sense of rational judgement when it comes to democratic ethos.

“We have never taking him serious neither did we rejoice in his fake concession because he was too battered and humbled in the election, a situation that would have plagued him with political hallucinations; for he has never been known to be groomed in political intelligence but a product of idolised greed and corruption-coated philosophy” Oluwawole said in the statement.

He further stated that the leadership of APC, including Fayemi is a contraption of people that are invested with diabolical delusions of grandeur who will always knowingly or otherwise deride their own position at any point in time for political advantage even when the whole world is on the other side of the coin.

“The double talk of the outgoing governor is a symptoms of wild frustration, hence it took Fayemi a month to wake up from the other side of the bed to insult the intelligence of Ekiti people by saying he has not said he conceded defeat, while blaming people for lack of proper understand of English language as if he was cornered by schizophrenic waves by the time he was convincingly defeated in all the 16 Local Government that make up Ekiti state,” Oluwawole said.

“How do you describe a Fayemi who congratulated a person who defeated him in an election that was adjudged to be free fair and peaceful by both Nigerian and International communities to come out after a month to changed gear and be saying the opposite; he said he would not go to court but his party are in the tribunal to challenge the result of the election where he was roundly trashed. We believe this is display is the mother of all hypocrisy which has always been the hallmark of the All Progressive Congress.

“We can recall the incidence of the 2003 when Dr Ayo Fayose defeated the godfather of Governor Kayode Fayemi and the incubent governor then, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, he conceded defeat and congratulated the PDP candidate but later went to tribunal where he equally failed so also this time around the story will not be different as Fayemi will meet his Waterloo at the election petition tribunal.”

According to Oluwawole, Fayemi’s claims that he made the concession then in order to save Ekiti from blood spilling is the demonstration of his garrulous arrogance because nobody would have raised a finger even if he was rigged out for his government. He held that Fayemi is regarded by an average Ekiti person as too wicked, corrupt and irresponsible to be allowed a second time, asking that is it the same Ekiti people who mercilessly voted him out of office that will come around to fight the security?

For putting his concession of defeat in reverse gear, PDP said that it has validated all the claims of Fayemi’s deficiency in management of state and practical political phenomenon.

Oluwawole called on the people of the state and other part of the world on behalf of PDP not to attach much importance to the statement and counter-statement of the outgoing governor because he will still debunk many of his utterances in not too distant future due to the tide of frustrations of the moment.

“We call on the entire Ekiti people not to apportion blame onto the governor but show pity to him because of the tide of frustrations of the moment as he proceeds to meet his Waterloo at the Ekiti state governorship election petition tribunal,” he concluded.
