The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has again vowed to rebuild the destroyed Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, consolidating its announcement of N100m donation to all victims of the Nyanya Bomb blast. With hope that the abducted girls would soon be rescued, the forum promised to bankroll treatment and rehabilitation of the students as soon as they are rescued.

Owelle Rochas Okorocha, chairman of the forum made the announcement on Wednesday while talking with journalists in Abuja.

“Once rescued, we will support the parents and government of Borno State to ensure that our girls all receive treatment for the physical and psychological trauma they might have suffered in captivity,” Okorocha said.

“We shall also undertake the rebuilding of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok to ensure that the students are able to resume normal life.”

Okoroch severely condemned the abduction, saying the promised support comes as a result of the forum’s deep concern about the growing state of insecurity in Nigeria and its commitment to working with the Federal Government to ensure a safe return of the abducted girls.

“The abduction of these innocent schoolgirls is an assault on our nation, an attack on civility and constitutionalism and colossal descent to barbarism, which is unacceptable and should be combated by all patriots. We are therefore very grateful to all Nigerians and international community for standing by the innocent schoolgirls, their parents, Chibok community and the people and government of Borno State,” he said.

He assured that the forum is ready to give its full support to all endeavours to bring back the girls safely.
