With the governorship election in Osun state drawing near, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Fatai Akinbade, has declared his intention to run, not under the PDP which has presented Iyoola Omisore, but under the Labour Party (LP)

Declaring his intention on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital, Akinbade, said he depends on the manifesto of the Labour Party in declaring his ambition, adding that he would also be guided by its tenets if he becomes governor of the state.

He listed mechanised farming, industrialisation, restoration of middle class, expansion and development of infrastructure, mining, human capital development, tourism development and building an egalitarian society as some of his agenda towards transforming the state.

He promised to work towards the goal of providing quality leadership that will work tenaciously to bring about the required development and give people a new lease of life.

He appealed for support from elders, politicians and residents of the state, saying he was offering himself to help rescue the state from its challenges, a call supported by Timothy Olatunji, the chairman of Labour Party in the state.
