Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu has asserted that though, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in his state would be free and fair,  Niger North Senatorial District will win the governorship  ticket.

Babangida made the assertion in Kontagora, Niger State,  on Friday at the inauguration of the Kontagora township road and street light as well as 110-kilometre-road projects constructed in 11 wards of the local government area.

He revealed that the Kontagora road and township light projects costed the government over N1.9bn, while the 110-kilometre-road projects gulped  over N710m.

Cutting the tapes alongside  Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Alhaji Saidu Namaska,   Aliyu told all those in the race for the governorship  ticket that it is not for sale to the highest bidder, promising that PDP would not buy votes during the 2015 elections.

Aliyu warned  the people of Kontagora and Borgu  emirates, and every other tribe in Niger North senatorial district, to shun politicians who  go around the communities  enticing people with money.

“I warn you to be wary of people who want to buy you because their parents are rich”, he said. “Examine those seeking your votes and see their contributions to the state before taking a decision”.

While concluding his speech, Aliyu highlighted his administration’s achievements, saying that since he assumed office in 2007, his administration has paid workers’ salaries and allowances promptly. Doing this,  while effectively executing projects to the benefit of all in the state.

He contrasted his achievement with “some states under the opposition party”  that has not paid salaries for upward of 18 months.
