Former Governor of Oyo state, Chief Rashidi Ladoja has declared that the recent overtures made to him by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state are proof that the party is scared of him and his Accord Party.
Ladoja stated this on Thursday in reaction to a statement linked to Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Media Affairs Dr. Festus Adedayo that the move by the APC was made in order to rescue the former governor and save him from further defeat.
“The Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Media Affairs goofed because his comment no doubt exhibits the fact that he has not been properly tutored politically; otherwise, he should have known that the party lobbying the other like APC is doing is the one that is afraid of defeat and not the one being lobbied”, he said in a release issued by Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the state publicity secretary of the Accord Party.
“Accord Party in Oyo State has strategically positioned itself as the only viable alternative to the misrule of APC in the state. Therefore, it is very clear that the influence and fortunes of Accord is soaring on daily basis in Oyo State and the party under the leadership of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja will no doubt thrash the APC and the incumbent governor in a free and fair election holding in 2015.
“It is the APC in Oyo State that is in a state of confusion and embattled, having lost touch with the Oyo State masses and the grassroots who are the custodians of votes”.
