The Delta State House of Assembly was in a raucous session on Tuesday after it was discovered that one of the seven people nominated for appointment into the Delta State Tourism Board had died.

The seven nominees sent to the House for confirmation by the Executive were Efe Afe, Peter Okolotu, Hyacinth Iyere, James Youmu, Amah Agbajoh, Abel Eyube and Joe Morgan.

However, during the screening, when the fourth nominee on the list, James Youmu, was called up, Efe Afe, who was screened as Chairman of the board and a former member of the House, drew the attention of the House to the passing away of James Youmu, even before the names were sent to the House.

In another dramatic moment, Mrs. Gift Gomere, nominated for appointment into Delta State Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri was sent back home appearing at the screening improperly dressed.

Similarly, Friday Oko, who was nominated for appointment into Delta State Rural Development Agency (RDA) was turned back for the “unruly behaviour” of chewing gum while he was been screened.
