Anambra State Commissioner for special Duties, Chief Vincent Ejikeme Ezenwajiaku has signified his intention to resign his appointment on Friday, after allegations of involvement in a fraud to the tune of N10.6m.
Already, Ezenwajiaku has instituted a N250m legal suit against Commissioner of Police in charge of Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Chuks Mgbemena of (NIMASA) and CSP Okposiakpo Elolor for attempting to ruin his reputation.
Speaking with journalists in Awka on Thursday, one day after the Police declared him wanted for failing to honour their invitation, Ezenwajiaku lamented that he was a victim of his appointment as commissioner by Governor of the state, Peter Obi.
“I am going to step further on the court cases against these people,” he said. “I have never been involved in any form of fraud because of a personal vow I took after my youth service. I have never been arrested or detained all my life.
“As a result of this raging fire, I am going further by resigning my position as the state Commissioner for Special Duties. I am going to tender the letter to Governor Peter Obi first thing tomorrow morning (Friday).”
He promised never to embarrass the state government but rather prove his innocence.
“Until I clear my name of this mess, whatever it will take to do it, I will do it,” he said.
