Dare-devil bandits operating in Katsina have kidnapped Major General Mahrazu Tsiga (retired), a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Residents of Tsiga village in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, confirmed that Tsiga was kidnapped with some other residents whose identity Huhuonline.com is yet to confirm.
One of the residents told journalists that the bandits, heavily armed, attacked the residence of Major General Tsiga and whisked him and others away.
This was confirmed by other residents who said some residents were injured while one of the bandits died from shots fired by his colleague who mistook him for a resident.
Katsina, a state that has produced two Nigerian presidents, Umaru Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari, has faced serious insecurity causing the death of many.
At the time of this report, the Katsina State Government and the police command in the state were yet to issue a confirmation.
