A Police orderly attached to officials of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC) in Edo State has been murdered.
According to reports, the DESOPADEC officials were travelling along the Benin-Lagos bye-pass road on Friday when kidnappers attacked them.
During the raid, three people in a nearby truck sustained injuries. The driver of the truck confirmed that the kidnappers were in a Toyota Sienna bus while the DESOPADEC officials were in a Toyota Camry.
“We were driving when they blocked the Toyota Camry,” he said. “They fired shots and we were hit. My hand is gone.”
While the slain Police orderly died from gunshots in the head, one of the suspected kidnappers was also killed.
