The People’s Democratic Party on Friday disqualified two of its presidential aspirants while it approved the other 15 candidates.

This was announced by the Chairman of the party’s Screening Committee, Senator David Mark, who spoke to journalists after the conclusion of the exercise at PDP’s Legacy House in Abuja.

However, Mark declined to disclose the identities of the disqualified candidates or the reasons for their disqualification.

Each of the contestants had paid the mandatory N80 million to obtain the nomination form, and journalists had wanted to know from Mark if the party would refund the money to the disqualified candidates.

“Why should the party refund the money?” he retorted.

He said the committee would transmit the results of the screening to the party’s National Working Committee for consideration Friday night.
