The trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was on Wednesday adjourned till January 19 and 20, 2022.
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja made the ruling as Kanu’s trial resumed in Abuja.
Earlier, Kanu’s lawyers had staged a walkout in protest over the refusal of officials of the Department of State Services, to allow some of them into the courtroom.
Among those who were barred from the court room was Kanu’s lawyer, Bruce Fein, who came from the United States.
Kanu told the court that Fein, who is handling another case for him in the United States, came to Nigeria to witness his trial.
“I have an ongoing case in the US. I have not been allowed to see him. He is here to see me and to observe the proceedings.
“He has been to the DSS to see me, but they denied him access to me”, the IPOB leader said while standing in the dock.
