The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the governorship election in Anambra State as inconclusive.
It has also fixed a supplementary election to hold on Tuesday, November 9 in Ihiala, where the polls did not hold on Saturday.
These were announced by the Returning Officer of the election, Professor Florence Obi, who, quoting the Constitution, declared that polls must hold in place before the election could be regarded as being conclusive.
Prof Obi said that the election could not hold in Ihiala local government because of reports of insecurity there
She noted that the election did not take place in Ihiala because there were reports of insecurity in the area.
This decision by the INEC came as Prof Charles Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, was leading with a total of 103, 946.
