Nigeria’s Central Region has said it must be given the chance to produce the nation’s President, come 2023.
Leaders of the zone, working under a group called the North Central Renaissance Movement, on Tuesday called on Nigeria’s leading political parties – All Progressives Congress, and the People’s Democratic Party, to zone their 2023 Presidential slots to the zone in the interest of fairness and justice.
The Renaissance Movement made the declaration at a press conference in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, where it said that the time has come for other geo-political zones to support the zone to produce the next President of Nigeria.
The chairman of the group, Dr. Nghargbu K’tso declared that the zone will not accept the national chairmanship of any political party, vowing that nothing short of the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would be good enough for the North Central in 2023.
