Cour D’Appel De Cotonou has ruled that Sunday Igboho, the embattled Yoruba Nation agitator, should be moved  to another detention location.

In the meantime, the Cour De’Appel De Cotonou returned Igboho to police custody until investigations are conclude.

The court ordered Igboho to be taken back to the cell after a 13-hour hearing that ended by 1:20 pm on Monday, exactly one week after he was arrested in Cotonou.

The hearing was held behind closed doors, with only his lawyers, his wife Ropo and a handful of others being admitted into the courtroom. Not even the journalists who came to the court were allowed access into the place.

The court also allowed Igboho access to medical care, the first since his arrest.

Igboho is fighting to prevent being extradited back to Nigeria, a request that the Nigeria has made to the Beninese authorities.

The Nigerian government has accused him of gunrunning. This came after a night raid by the Department of State Services on his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital early this month.

The Spy Police later announced it uncovered a cache of arms and ammunition in the place, and declared him wanted.
