The kidnappers who abducted Anthony Okungbowa, Edo State Head of Service, are yet to make contact with his family by Sunday, a day after the kidnap.
Unidentified gunmen kidnapped Edo’s top civil servant on Saturday along Oza Road, in Orhiomwon Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen also killed his driver, while his police orderly is still missing, according to sources.

Okungbowa was said to be on his way to Benin, Edo State capital after attending a social event organised by a politician in Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
“He was kidnapped on his way back to Benin City after attending an event in Oza. His driver was killed. It is very sad,” a source said.
Nigeria is suffering from its worst state of banditry in the country, with people easily kidnapped for ramsom.
Nine days ago, bandits who are said to be working in cooperation with the Islamist group, Boko Haram, kidnapped over 300 students from a government boys secondary school in Kankara, in Katsina state.
The kidnappers released the boys following the intervention of the federal and state governments.
