Godwin Obaseki, Edo State governor and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party has been declared the winner of the stat gubernatorial election.
Obaseki polled 307,955 votes, to beat Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, who got 223,619 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission made the declaration Sunday after collation of polling results.
INEC’s Returning Officer for the polls, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, announced the total result of the election after the collation.
