Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, has tested positive for the coronavirus, he disclosed early Wednesday.

 

Fayemi announced this via tweet o his official Twitter handle, @kfayemi

 

“I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive,” he tweeted.

 

 “I’m generally ok and I’m already self- isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team,” he added.

 

Fayemi is Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum.

 

“I’m delegating critical tasks to my Deputy but will continue routine duty from home. JKF”.

 

Nigeria’s coronavirus cases rose to 37,801 on Tuesday, as 576 new infections were added, according to figures published by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

 

NCDC said 805 people have died from the infection in the country.
