President of Senate and Chairman National Assembly, Dr. Bukola Saraki has said that President Mohammadu Buhari who extended his medical vacation indefinitely is healthy, adding that there is no cause for alarm.
Saraki made this announcement on Wednesday in terse statement.
“Myself, Rt Honorable Speaker Yakubu Dogara and leader of Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan paid a visit to President Buhari in Abuja House in London.”
“We were delighted to see that President Buhari is doing well, was cheerful and in good spirits.”
“ The president I saw today is healthy, witty and himself.”
“The presiden’ts absence and imminent return shows that there is no vacuum in government and our system of democracy is working with all organs of government fulfilling their mandate. And let me use the time tested cliché, there is no cause for alarm!”
The National Assembly had sent a high power delegation to visit President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently on an extended vacation in the United Kingdom.
The four-man delegation which was led by President, Bukola Saraki, includes the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Deputy Speaker, Lasun Yusuf and Senate Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan.
The team left for London on Wednesday morning to meet with Buhari, who is on a medical vacation.
Recall that towards the end of Buhari’s initial ten-day vacation meant to end on 6th February, he wrote to the Senate on the eve of resumption that he will be staying back in London to complete some required tests.
The President however did not indicate another resumption time neither did he indicate the duration of his stay.
