The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Anambra State Chief George Moghalu, has described security votes which are disbursed to state governors every month to be spent at their discretion as glorified stealing.

Chief Moghalu who expressed  his interest in contesting for this year’s governorship election in Anambra State, said it was criminal for the beneficiaries of such fund not to account for it.

He however noted that if elected governor of Anambra state he would make his security votes public, adding that any fund not accounted for consisted fraud.

He said, “Why should I take the people’s money without accounting for it. It’s Criminal and fraudulent to do so”.

He maintained that a state that was peaceful had no reason to apply for security votes.

He said, “A state like Borno, for instance, needs security votes. But it is stealing for a state that is peaceful to ask for security votes . It’s glorified stealing”.

Moghalu added that the APC under him as governor would transform Anambra State the way nobody had done.

He said, “I’m happy the APC is the most sought political party in Anambra State today.

“President Buhari means well for the Igbo and the interest of the South East is better protected in an APC government.

“I’m confident that 2017 will be good for our nation; it will bring excitement to our people.

“I’m running for the governorship of Anambra in my party, the APC.”
