In a dramatic style the #Bring Back Our Girls (#BBOG), on Tuesday broke through security checks in its protest march, for the release of Chibok girls. This is coming after being stopped on two previous attempts by the police.
The group gained entrance after police walls and some supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari tried hard to stop it, even clashing with them.
Abiodun Alamatu, a police officer, had engaged Obiageli Ezekwesili, leader of the movement, demanding for proof of permission for the protest without which he said the group would not be allowed to continue with the protest.
After the movement provided acknowledged copies of the letters submitted to the police on the planned march, it was allowed to continue.
Again, BBOG group was stopped by another group of policemen led by M. D. Garba, a police deputy commissioner, who never bothered to explain to the group why his men will not allowed them to continue.
#BBOG protesters broke through the wall of riot police officers, confusing them by running in different directions.
At the end, the group had access into the entrance of the Presidential Villa were again, Pro-Muhammadu Buhari group identified as “With Buhari We Stand”, mounted another wall.
Addressing journalist, Aisha Yesufu, a leader of the #BBOGmovement, said it was not a privilege but a right to rescue the Chibok girls. “If Aisha Buhari was in captivity, won’t they take action? It is not a privilege to bring back our girls; it is not right.”
Idris King, who spoke on behalf of the pro-Buhari group, said the “Chibok girls were only used as a scam”.
He said that Buhari administration is working hard to rescue the Chibok girls alive.
Police, prevented the two groups from coming close.
