Amina Ali, one of the abducted Chibok girls, who was rescued by Nigerian Army, Thursday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari.

She arrived the Presidential villa with her four month old daughter,accompanied by her mother and Borno State Governor,  Kashim Shetima. During the meeting, President Buhari held her four month old baby baby fathered by an alleged Boko Haram commander.
“Like all Nigerians and many others around the world, I am delighted that Amina Ali is free, but it is tinged with deep sorrow with what she had to go through,” Buhari said.  

Amina, who is also pregnant was rescued, Wednesday, by troops of 25 Brigade Damboa in conjunction with Civilian JTF deployed to  Baale, near Damboa. She was airlifted by Nigeria Air Force Super Puma aircraft from Damboa to Maiduguri alongside her baby and supposed husband, Mohammed Hayatu.

Prior to that they were examined at Air Force medical facility and were found to be stable and normal blood pressure was observed.

Thereafter, she was released to the Operation LAFIYA DOLE headquarters for further investigation and handing over.

After preliminary investigation, Amina and her baby was handed over to Borno State Governor, His Excellency, Honourable Kashim Shetima, at Government house, Maiduguri this evening by the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu in a brief ceremony.

However, Mohammed Hayatu, the alleged husband and father of her baby is undergoing further investigation at Joint Intelligence Centre.

The army noted, “Mohammed Hayatu is well treated in line with Operation LAFIYA DOLE Rules of Engagement regarding insurgents who voluntarily surrender to the military.”
