What could have become a tragedy in the Nigerian entertainment industry was averted on Thursday as Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, was rescued as he attempted to jump into the lagoon in Lagos, Nigeria.
Teebillz was allegedly rescued by one of the Psquare brothers, Banky W, and two others.
Teebillz had on Wednesday night accused Tiwa Savage, his wife of sleeping with others in the entertainment industry including Don Jazzy. He also alleged that Tiwa had turned him into a useless man because she sometimes pay the bills.
Among his complaints was that Tiwa has never cooked for him for years. All he had been eating are fast foods. He contemplated suicide in his posts on Instagram.
The posts were however deleted early Thursday with the claim that the handle was hacked.
Hours later, Teebillz was said to have sped down the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge, hitting another car from the rear and damaging the car. The owner of the damaged car, Chukwuma Ani, said while he quarrelled with Teebillz who he did not recognise, the former told him he was at the bridge for a mission.
It was learnt that rather than come down from his car and apologise like Ani wanted, Teebillz sped off and was chased by Ani.
He suddenly stopped halfway, came down and ran to the edge of the bridge, held the railings in an attempt to climb and jump.
At this stage, a man was said to have sped in a car to the scene, ran to the spot, grabbed Teebillz and started shouting for help. Ani also joined in the rescue before one of the Psquare brothers and Banky W rushed to the scene to join in the rescue.
