Embattled National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday collapsed while with other members of the National Working Committee of the party at the inauguration of members of the caretaker committee for Borno and Yobe states.
Metuh slipped as he was taking his seat at the event which held inside the NWC hall at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The inauguration was being conducted by the Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, when the incident occurred.
Members of the NWC who were seated inside the hall included Sheriff, National Legal Adviser, Mr. Victor Kwon; National Woman Leader, Dr. Kema Chikwe; National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo and the National Treasurer, Bala Buhari.
Security operatives attached to Sheriff and those that stood at the entrance of the hall, rushed to his rescue, but it was too late as he was already on the floor.
It was learnt that the politician had earlier complained he had a serious back ache earlier.
He was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja after the fall.
