Apparently due to widely expressed outrage by Nigerians, the Senate has resolved to suspend the discuss and consideration of the amendment of the CCT/CCB Act.
The lawmakers also however clarified that the resolve to drop the case does not mean lack of support for the embattled Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.
The lawmakers said they remain in support ofthe senate president in his ongoing trial until he is proven guilty.
The Senate came out with the resolve after an almost three-hour closed door meeting.
The Senate said all members have resolved to be united and put behind them all the crisis that had started since the inception of the 8th Senate.
All senators that have pending cases in court were also urged to withdraw them.
The lawmakers held another closed door session to meet with Service Chiefs on the abducted Chibok girls.
