Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has continued to receive condemnation from different sectors of Nigeria. As a result of his fierce criticism against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari with the All Progressives Congress (APC) asking traditional rulers in the South-western part of the country to caution him.

Fayose recently wrote a letter to the Chinese authority not to give Nigeria loan adding that the budget for which the loan was being sourced was riddled in controversy. The Federal Government has denied receiving loan in cash from the Chinese government.

Publicity Secretaries of the All Progressives Congress in the South-western States of Nigeria, who collectively condemned Fayose, over his objection to the $2 billion China loan to Nigeria, also urged that he should be cautioned.

The APC Publicity Secretaries from Ondo State, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya; Ekiti, Taiwo Olatunbosun; Ogun, Sola Lawal; Joe Igbokwe of Lagos and Osun State, Morakinyo Akintola, signed the statement adding that Fayose’s odd conducts had become worrisome.

The statement said Fayose’s thoughts and emotions have been so impaired that he has completely lost decorum and conduct expected of a man that can safely live in peace with other people in a sane society where the law works.

“The governor went to the House of Assembly with the gavel to conduct a voice vote to pass the 2016 budget.

“He sits on the road median treating official files and goes to the market personally carting away traders’ tables and chairs, including their wares.

“The last was his embarrassing and illegal communication with the Chinese authority urging President XI Jinping to refuse financial assistance to Nigeria to enable the country address her economic challenges.

“Also in China, he mounted a rostrum at a train station addressing travellers in tattered clothings and posted his photograph on the Internet, claiming that he was addressing investors in China even when there was no Federal Government’s approval that he ought to seek before a state can embark on such diplomatic trip.

“Besides, Fayose’s intervention on the nation’s appropriation matter is an exclusive function of the National Assembly.

“Governor Fayose is one of our sons. He needs help. We want him to succeed as an individual and as the Governor of Ekiti State (The Land of Honour).

“Therefore, we cannot continue to watch him drag the revered name of Yoruba in the mud in the name of government’s criticism. He’s gradually stepping beyond his bounds.

“This is the essence of our appeal to all Yoruba Obas and religious leaders to pray fervently for and on behalf of Fayose to regain his senses because, an injury to one, we believe is an injury to all.”
