A politician and rights activist, Najatu Muhammad, has rejected an appointment giving to her by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Muhammad, a staunch supporter of Buhari during his campaign for presidency as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer, rejected her appointment as the chairperson of the Dutse Federal University.
She made the rejection public in a newspaper advert on Monday.
The activist said she rejected the appointment for personal reasons. She also mentioned that she was not consulted before the announcement of the appointment was made.
“I, Najatu Muhammad, wish to thank you so much for considering me worthy of being appointed the chairperson of Dutse Federal University,” she said in the quarter page advert.
“It’s however, unfortunate that I was not consulted before the announcement in the media.
“I also regret that I have to use the same medium to announce that I can’t accept the appointment for some personal reasons.”
Despite the rejection of the appointment, Muhammad promised continue supporting Buhari’s administration.
“I will however remain an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari in his effort in charting a new course for this country. A course that we pray will put this country back on the path of progress,” shae said.
“I will also continue to support the president’s fight against corruption and other ills of this country. My unflinching support for the President will remain for Allah’s sake and country.
“I pray that Allah will continue to guide and protect our President.
