Governor of Bayelsa State and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Seriake Dickson, was Sunday night declared winner of the Bayelsa State governorship election.
Dickson won the election with a total of 134,998 votes,
He beat Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 48,146 votes as declared by the Returning Officer of the election, Zana Akpagbu.
While there were 225,527 valid votes, the total number of votes rejected was 6, 647 while 232,167 was given as the total number of votes cast.
A re-run had been conducted in some polling units following the inconclusive nature of the December governorship election.
