For alleged reckless handling of pension funds in Edo State, the state’s Head of Service, Jerry Obazele, and the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Information and Communication Technology Agency, Dan Aigbavboa, have been fired by the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Apart from the duo, the Director of Software in the Edo State Information and Communication Technology Agency, Toju Onaiwu, was also slammed with suspension.
The punishments were contained in a statement on Tuesday evening released by the state government.
In the statement, all members of the Edo State Pensions Board were ordered to appear before the State Civil Service Commission as investigations continue into the case.
Until investigations are concluded, the members of the Pensions Board are not to be seen in their offices, the statement warned.
Their appearance at the Civil Service Commission, is also for all those involved to be considered for proper disciplinary action in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.
The sacked HOS was immediately replaced with Gladys Idahor.
