The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday arrested former Chairman of Daar Communications, owner of the African Independent Television (AIT), Ray Power and Faaji FM, Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
Dokpesi was arrested in Abuja over the $2.1 billion Nigerian arms scandal and accompanied to the office of the EFCC by his son Raymond Dokpesi Jnr., who now heads the organisation.
The Head of Media of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest.
Uwujaren said the arrest was in connection with Dopkesi’s role in the disbursement of money from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who was also picked up on Tuesday by the Directorate of State Service (DSS).
Uwujaren said there was no explanation about what the money was meant for, adding that the office of the NSA was used as a warehouse to dish out money to people.
