The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has handed over the final list of ministers who scaled through the confirmation process to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Saraki presented the list to Buhari during a meeting at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the President reiterated that the Federal Government may not be able to fund all the existing ministries, given the unavailability of funds, thus he revealed that his administration would not have 36 ministries because of the economic downturn.

Receiving the list of nominees confirmed by the Senate, the President commended the Senate for a job well done, especially because the lawmakers passed all the names he submitted.

Buhari also restated that some of the ministers will not be given any portfolio because of fund issues.

Responding, Saraki acknowledged the economic challenges facing the country and said that the issue of portfolios should not be trivialised.

Close sources to the presidency are  speculating that assignment of portfolios to some of the minsters will be during this week.

However, the sources hold that nothing concrete as regards who gets which portfolio is currently known.
