President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in their effort to cut down the cost governance, will henceforth be paid only 50 percent of their salaries.
Nebolisa Emodi, Permanent Secretary in the State House, made the decision of the President and the Vice President public via a letter with reference number PRES/81/SGF/17:
Hear him:
“I write to forward the completed IPPIS registration form of Mr. President and to draw your kind attention to Mr. President’s directive that only 50% of his salary be paid to him,” the letter stated.”
Huhuonline.com checks with the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, shows that the current annual remuneration for the President is N14,058,820.00.
Consequently, the duo would now earn 50 percent of the salary paid to their predecessors, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo respectively. President Buhari`s annual salary will be N7,029,410.00($31,000.00) while Vice president Osinbajo will earn between five to million naira annually.
