The authorities of the Department of State Services (DSS) have redeployed the 253 operatives that were earlier assigned to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The personnel were sent back to their respective commands on Wednesday, until DSS authorities will get further directives from The Presidency on their deployment, sources said.

Sources held that the 253 personnel were rejected at the Villa on the recommendation of the Aide-De-Camp to President Muhammadu  Buhari.

The sources further said the operatives were not even allowed in by the ADC, saying their services were unnecessary.

The 253 were supposed to be attached to the first and second families in Nigeria.

After they were denied entry at the villa,  the 253 were reportedly returned to the agency’s Institute for Security Studies, Bwari, where they underwent an induction process for some days. Thereafter, the officers were returned to their former postings with instructions to await further directives.

“We have been asked to return to our respective state commands and to await further directives or orders from the national headquarters,” one of the operatives explained.

The DSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, has not commented on what happened yet.
