The final hour for fugitive Nigerian Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu, seems to have come as heavily armed officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Saturday morning stormed his residence in Ogun State in search of him.
The plan, according Huhuonline.com findings, is to get him arrested and extradited to the United States of America to answer on allegations of drug peddling.
The US is reportedly seeking Kashamu’s extradition but he had been shaded by the Nigerian government under President Goodluck Jonathan.
On his part, Kashamu, who had often denied that he is being wanted by the US in relation to drug-related offences, recently said it would be a suicide mission for him to travel to the US.
He has also accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of planning to ensure he is jailed by the US government.
At the time of this report, officials of the NDLEA were ransacking the entire building and area in search of Kashamu, who also doubles as the South West Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
