President Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo, his running mate on Sunday unveiled their official portraits, Buhari’s media team announcing that he would drop the tag: “General” from his name when he finally takes over government on 29th May.
A statement signed by the Director, Media and Publicity of the President-Elect, Mallam Garba Shehu, said: “From May 29, 2015, the President-elect and Vice-President-elect are to be respectively known and addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, out-going President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday handed over the Aso Rock Villa Chapel to the Vice-President-elect, Professor YemiOsinbajo after a valedictory prayer session held in honour of Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan.
The chapel is the official Christian worship center of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja and Osinbajo is expected to worship there often from 29th May when the mantle of leadership would fall on him and Buhari.
