Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, has denied allegations that he may be mentally unstable to take over from Governor Babatunde Fashola as governor of Lagos.
Days ago, a group had alleged that Ambode was not mentally alert enough to handle the job of governor of Lagos.
In his reply on Tuesday, through his Campaign Organisation, Ambode described the allegation as wicked, baseless and cowardly.
In a statement signed by Steve Ayorinde, director, media and communications of the Akinwunmi Ambode Campaign Organisation, in a statement on behalf of Ambode said the jittery opposition will stop at nothing in its smear campaign having failed to contain the soaring popularity of the APC Governorship candidate.
Ayorinde said: “We are neither bothered nor discouraged; and we know that our numerous supporters and the generality of well-meaning Lagosians can see through the lies and desperation of those who dread a crushing defeat at the forthcoming election.
