The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has reiterated that the Police would take all lawful measures to ensure the safety and security of Nigerians at all times, while pledging the determination and readiness of the Nigeria Police Force to tackle all issues of security pertaining to the 2015 elections.

Abba further assured the travelling public of their safety and security as they commute Nigerian roads, following the conclusion of New Year and Eid-el Maulud celebrations.

He stated the Police and other security agencies have been deployed strategically nationwide to ensure law-abiding Nigerians go about their lawful businesses without fear and molestation.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General has assured Nigerians that the Force would stand by its personnel at all times, while further pledging the determination of the Force to perform its statutory duties against all odds.

The Police chief stated this at the Police Mobile Force 50 Base, Kubwa, Abuja, when he visited families of Policemen who have been declared missing following the attack by Boko Haram insurgents at the Police Mobile Training College, Gwoza on 20th August, 2014.

Abba, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), CP Ibrahim Idris, said the Force is saddened that its men are missing but assured that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to perform its statutory duties of safeguarding lives and property in spite of all odds.

He gave each of the six families N500,000 and food items with a promise that salaries of the missing policemen will be paid for one year with effect from August 2014 when the sad incident occurred.

Olutoyin Enisenyin, who is the Squadron Commander of the 50 PMF Kubwa, thanked Abba for the kind gesture while pledging the unflinching loyalty of his men to the Force.

Also, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Esther Ishaya, who spoke on behalf of the other beneficiaries, thanked the IGP for displaying love and concern. promised that the money would be judiciously used.
