Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, former Gorvernor of Anambra state and a presidential aspirants under the the Peoples Democratic Party has resigned from party.
His resignation was communicated via a letter, titled Resignation form People Democratic Party(PDP) and withdrawal from the Presidential contest, dated Tuesday May 24th 2022 and addressed to the chairman of the party, stated that his resignation. became effective on friday May 20th.
Full text of his resignation letter reads:
“Resignation form People Democratic Party(PDP) and withdrawal from the Presidential contest”
“I am wrIting to intimate of my resignation from the People Democratic Party(PDP), which was conveyed to the Chairman of Agulu Ward 2, Anocha LGA, Anambra, effective Friday 20 May 2022. Consequently,, i am by this letter informing you of my withdrwawal for the PDP Presidential Primaries.”
“It has been a great honour to contribute to nation biulding efforts through our party. Unfortunately, recent developments within our party make it practically impossible to continue participating and making much constructive contributions.”
“Our National challenges are deep seated and require that we each make profound sacrifices towards rescuing our country. My commitment to rescuing Nigeria remains firm, even the route differ”.
Huhuonline.com gathered Mr Obi will announce his new party soon. Sources close to him aver that he is likely to join either the Labour Party of Nigeria or the Social Democratic Party of Nigeria.
Mr Obi is committed to the Presidential race but not under PDP, as recent developments within PDP has made it practically impossible to continue participating and making much constructive contributions.” the source added.
Probed as to what these development are, the source said, Gov Wike has bought all the PDP delegates in the East and Abubakar Atiku and Bukola Saraki has bought all PDP delegates in the North, while the delegates from the South-South are non-commitalls, the state governors in the south-south are all positioning themselves to become vice President to any Notherrn Candidate that bags the PDP Presidential ticket.
