The governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, has given his backing to the presidential bid by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The governor made the declaration on Thursday during a visit by Tinubu who was on a condolence visit to the State over the level of recent killings by bandits in Niger State.

Tiinubu donated a gift of N50m to the victims of these attacks on the state, which has become one of the hotbeds of the banditry ravaging parts of Nigeria.

“I share in your grief.  I am here for the people of Niger State. I have heard and read of the disasters, banditry, and cattle rustling every day, just like what happened on Wednesday again,” Tinubu told the governor.

Bello noted that giving Tinubu a chance to rule Nigeria would enable him to replicate over the country the transformation that Lagos State witnessed under him as a two-term governor, from 1999 to 2007.

“We saw the foundation you laid in Lagos and we look forward to seeing you replicate it for Nigeria,” Bello said.
