The Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, was taken back to custody on Thursday as Cour D’Appel De Cotonou, Benin Republic, adjourned his case till Friday, July 23.
He was returned to the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou.
Igboho and his wife, Ropo, a German, were arrested at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou on Monday night as they tried to board a flight to Germany.
Ighoho’s counsel, lawyer, Yomi Aliyu (SAN), explained to journalists that Igboho’s appearance on Thursday was just for registration of the case.
He added that the court is expected to rule on the merits or otherwise of the international arrest warrant for Igboho. The judgment is also expected to determine if Igboho will be extradited to Nigeria or not.
