The management of the University of Lagos on Wednesday declared that Miss Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, who is an accused in a murder case, is a student of the institution.
Miss Ojukwu is a student of the university, whether a part-time or full-time student, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, said.
Ogundipe made the declaration while briefing the press on the activities planned for the 51st (2019) Convocation Ceremony of the institution. According to him, UNILAG would not deny Miss Ojukwu, despite the troubles she is facing now.
The Police a week ago paraded Chidinma as the prime suspect in the murder of Mr Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV.
Chidinma later spoke to journalists and admitted killing Mr. Ataga, admitting that they had been in a romantic relationship for about four months.
‘From our records which are available to us, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu is a student of the University of Lagos who was born on December 12, 1999, from our records, she is from Abia State. From our records her contact address is 57, Akinwumi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos.
“From our records, her telephone number is 09024366827. From our records, her next of kin of Mr Onoh Ojukwu. She is a student of this great university whether she is a part-time or full-time student. Her matriculation number is 170912015. We cannot deny the fact that she is a student of the university,” he said.
Prof Ogundipe said that the management of the institution was following due process in the handling of the case.
