Kaduna State has become a hotbed of kidnapping in northern Nigeria. Two institutions in the State, Greenfield University and Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, have been attacked in recent times, with several of their students kidnapped. In the case of Greenfield, five of the kidnapped students were killed by the bandits as negotiations over ransom were going on.
