Unidentified gunmen on Monday targeted Police facilities in southeast Nigeria, razing two down in Abia and Enugu States.

In Abia hoodlums in the early hours of Monday set ablaze the Uzuakoli police Division in the Bende council area of the state.  The hoodlums overpowered policemen guarding the station and freed detainees at the station, sources said.

In Anambra, hoodlums numbering about 20, also in the early hours of the day, attacked the Zonal Police Headquarters, Zone13, Ukpo, in the state.

They also set ablaze some offices and several vehicles parked at the station.

The attacks came two weeks after gunmen attacked Imo State Police Command Headquarters in Owerri and the state’s Prison Service. They set the facilities ablaze, releases nearly 2,000 prisoners as well as detainees at the police headquarters.
