Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari has criticized the coverage of the #EndSARS protests by the foreign press, describing them as disgusting.
Buhari specifically mentioned the coverage by CNN and BBC of the #EndSARS protest, saying they lacked balance, because they failed to give attention to the Policemen that were killed.
“It must be said that foreign press coverage of the ENDSARS violence was not balanced, especially from CNN and BBC,” Buhari said in a tweet.
“I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened.”
Buhari’s comments come several weeks after the Nigerian government vehemently criticized the coverage of the protests by CNN, declaring the network’s claims soldiers killed protesters at Lekki Tollgate as fake news.
