Resident doctors in Ondo State on Monday commenced what they called a warning Strike over, forcing government-owned hospitals to offer just skeletal services.
The doctors embarked on the warning strike in protest over unpaid salaries for four months, they said.
If their salaries are not paid within a week, the doctors they would embark on an indefinite strike.
Dr Taiwo Olagbe, who spoke on behalf of the doctors, said it was unacceptable for others in the health sector to be paid regularly while the resident doctors were made to suffer.
He appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to prevail on the state government to settle their unpaid salaries.
Governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu, won a second of four years on October 10, 2020.
