Hoodlums on Saturday invaded the residence of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba in Calabar, Cross River State, and looted properties before setting parts of it on fire.

Ndoma-Egba, a former leader of the Nigerian Senate on the platform of the Democratic People’s Party, is currently a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.  He served three terms in the Senate, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District.

He is also the immediate past chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The hoodlums also looted the house of Senator Gershom Bassey, which, like Ndoma-Ebga’s own, is situated at Asari Esor Layout in Calabar Municipality.

An SUV vehicle and parts of the multi-million naira building could be seen engulfed by fire. Other viral photos showed people carting away from the building various household items, including later closet, chairs, TV sets, air conditioners, car batteries, and kitchen utensils.

The arson and looting that began in Nigeria on Wednesday after the shooting of unarmed protesters in Lagos continued in various parts of the country on Saturday.

Aggrieved Nigerians in different states broke into warehouses, residences of politicians and other storages facilities and carted away food items labeled as Covid-19 Palliatives that were however not distributed to those who need them.
