A Jos High Court on Tuesday dismissed an application by Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which sought to stop Police from investigating him.
Police invited Mailafia for interrogation at the Force Headquarters Abuja, following his claim that some repentant Boko Haram fighters told him that a serving northern governor is a commander of the terrorists.
Mailafia made the allegation on a live radio programme.
According to the police, the invitation was based on “investigating a case in which your name featured prominently”.
But Mailafia declined the invitation and instead approached a Jos High Court seeking to restrain the police.
Since he made the claim, Mailafia has been invited by the Department of State Service three times for interrogation. The spy Police let him go on each occasion.
