The Federal Government has rescheduled its 2-day induction retreat and swearing-in program for Ministers-designate from August 15-16; to August 19-20, beginning 9:00 am daily.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Babatunde Lawal, the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, also said the swearing-in of all Ministers-designate by the president will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11:00 am.
The statement said before the inauguration, the ministers-designate had been invited to attend a two-day induction retreat in preparation for their swearing in. According to Lawal, the venue of the program still remains the State House Conference Centre in the Presidential Villa, and attendance to the parley, which would be presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, is strictly by invitation.
Lawal explained that one of the objectives of the retreat is to sensitize the cabinet appointees to the status of the implementation of policies, programs and projects of government from 2015 to date.
The retreat would also focus on building a strong platform for synergy and teamwork; acquaint the appointees with the roadmap for delivery of government’s priorities and next level agenda (2019-2023).
Others are to deepen the understanding of participants on best practices in conducting government business.
Accordingly, “The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, invites all ministers-designate, head of the civil service of the federation, federal permanent secretaries and top government functionaries (specifically invited)” to attend the occasion.
