President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, held a crucial security meeting with the Service Chiefs including the National Security Adviser, NSA, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu at the State House, Abuja. The closed-door meeting lasted almost an hour.

The meeting also had Defence Minister, Dan Mansur-Ali, Interior Minister, Abdulrahman Dambazau, the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS) Yusuf Bichi and some state governors and security chiefs in attendance.

According to the presidency, Buhari met with some state governors who are mostly from the north including: Kashim Shettima (Borno), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Jubrila Bindow (Adamawa), and Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe). Also present was the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.

The agenda of the meeting was yet unknown but it could not have been unconnected with the killing in a Kaduna community at the eve of the botched Presidential and National Assembly elections and the perhaps the forthcoming elections.
