President Muhammadu Buhari will no longer have to come to office everyday. He is now to work from home, the Information and Culture minister Lai Muhammed has confirmed.
This means that all files and documents relating to the governance of Nigeria would be taken to the president’s home for approval.
Mohammed made the revelation at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
Today’s FEC meeting makes it the third in a row at which Buhari was absent.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided over today’s weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Aso Chambers, State House, Abuja.
Mohammed said that the President needed some rest and has asked that all the files on his table be brought to him at his official residence at the Presidential Villa, Abuja for treatment.
A Punch reporter, Olalekan Adetayo had reported that the health of the president was a source of great concern to his close associates.
However, the reporter had been expelled from Aso Rock for that reason. He was later recalled after Nigerians far and wide condemned the expulsion.
